This is my beloved ol' white Victoria's Secret tank top.
Notice the black/smudgy, icky spots all over it. I wore it over my bathing suit at the beach. I put it in the wet clothing bag and forgot about it for a bit. Enter the black/smudgy, icky spots. A couple of weeks ago I donated several bags of clothing, but I decided to not part with my beloved white tank top. I had other ideas for it...I've been procrastinating for a while, but last night I decided to get on with it...
First I got out my stainless steel bowl. I put it in the sink and filled it with 4 cups of cold water.

Next, I added 4 Tbsp. of salt . (I used kosher salt,) and stirred the water.
Then, I added this dye...
...and stirred.
Next, I put my beloved white tank top in the water.
Following the directions, I stirred the water for 15 minutes straight. Then, I set a timer for 45 minutes and stirred the water periodically. I did add some extra water just to make sure the shirt had enough water to
move around.
After the timer went off, I rinsed the shirt well in cold water.
Then, I washed the tank top in warm water and hung it out to dry.
Enter, my "new" beloved ocean blue tank top!
Try this at home. I got one of the cheapest dyes out there. I am quite proud of my "new" tank top!
Have fun!
