Six Bags and Sulking!

I know I have been missing from this place for SO long. I've actually missed it myself, but I wasn't sure how or when to jump back in...so to speak. Let's just talk about what I've been up to.
For a while I was spending some well- deserved leave time with my Sailor. Those vacation days were suppose to consists of relaxing, and we were only suppose to do some fun things...take a vacation. We were suppose to sit around and do nothing...actually have a good two hours to watch a movie. We were suppose to spend some quality time together...Family Fun Nights...In short...He was suppose to leave work behind on his Leave time.

Well, he did take leave...and this is what we did...we decluttered our home some more...We made several runs to the thrift store...He gave my Jeep the oil change he had been meaning to get to...He did all those wonderful things on his husband list...and most importantly...I washed uniforms, we made a deployment list...and, we packed his bags...

Now, my Sailor is out there doing what he does best, and I have still not been here...blogging. Instead, I have been watching things not go as planned. You know how we military wives make all these plans to keep ourselves busy and occupied while our military men are gone?...I can't complain about this too much, because I have learned to do a few things over the years...fix a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a garage door, to name a few. Then, there are days like last Friday, you know, the ones where some driver is in a hurry to get some where, and side swipes your vehicle...Yeah, that happened to me. It was devastating to not be able to pick up the phone and call my husband.

So, all the good things that I have thrown myself back into since my Sailor left, like working-out at the gym, have been put on hold for a couple of days. Of course, I'm a little crazy so,...I skipped Zumba today because my swollen foot and hurting back weren't feeling much like dancing...but, I managed to finally get myself outside for some much needed sunshine, and well-overdue yard work. The leaves had more than taken over my yard...They were my yard!...which brings me to the six bags part of this post...

These are the six bags of leaves we gathered today!
We filled them up as much as we could!
Of course, you have to jump in them first...
...and make a big "splash"!
There was plenty of help with the leaves!
They helped haul off big loads!
They took them to the bags for me!
Of course, this was no easy task!

There's plenty left to do tomorrow!
I hope my helpers are up for the job!

Magic Marker Monday

It's been a long while since I've participated in Magic Marker Monday. There are so many wonderful creations to be seen over there. Go check it out. It's so wonderful to see things through the eyes of a child.

Today I will be sharing my lucky husband's birthday gift from my young artist. He has quite a gift for painting!
*There is not a big white spot at the bottom...to protect his budding career, I have removed his signature.*

Share some art from your life. We could all use a smile.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

It's time for the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In. I am linking up with Wife of a Sailor. It's a great way for Military Spouses to visit each others blogs and get to know about each other. Each week Wife of a Sailor posts five questions for us to answer. We post them on our blog, and then go link-up to Wife of a Sailor's blog. Here are the five questions, and my answers this week:

1) What are you looking forward to most in 2011? from Jessica Lynn Writes Right this second I am looking forward to my Sailor's safe return home.

2)What is something random you do on a boring night when your significant other is away? from Lovin Ma Soldier I do many random things when my Sailor is away...one of the most boring things I do is shut my bedroom door, and cover my legs in Veet (a cream hair remover.) Then, I watch some TV while I wait out my time before rinsing in the shower. Yep, that's pretty boring.

3)What has been your greatest adventure as a MilSpouse? from Misadventures of An Army Momma It's hard to choose one greatest adventure...we've seen many wonderful things and had many great times together...so, I think that's the greatest part of the adventure...having it together.

4)What is the ugliest fashion trend you ever bought into (I’d like to make fun of you, so can you please provide a picture as well)? from More Than An Army Wife Well, I'm not sure I have a picture...actually, I should, so I'll have to look for one...but, right off the top of my head I'm going with penny rolled britches high enough to display my thick slouchy socks...good times...good times. : )

5)What was the high point of last month? The easy answer to this would be Christmas...yes, as far ago as it seems, we just had Christmas last month. The special thing about my Christmas is simple. My Sailor had duty on Christmas. He was suppose to be gone all day, but the guys worked it out so that he was allowed to go in that evening for duty. This meant that we were able to have Christmas dinner together and enjoy each other's company much longer than expected. To top this off, we were enjoying relaxing and spending time together so much that we still didn't open all our presents on Christmas. My parents ended up spending an extra night at our house and we had Christmas part 2 the next day.
