MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

It's time for the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In. I am linking up with Wife of a Sailor. It's a great way for Military Spouses to visit each others blogs and get to know about each other. Each week Wife of a Sailor posts five questions for us to answer. We post them on our blog, and then go link-up to Wife of a Sailor's blog. Here are the five questions, and my answers this week:

1) What is your favorite MilSpouse blog (not including Wife of a Sailor who we all love, or your
own)? submitted boy Our Crazy Life
There are many that I enjoy, but my favorite is
Mrs. K. and Captain J.

2) What are your favorite perks about your s/o being deployed (we all know there are perks)? submitted by Ramblings of a Marine Wife
In general, one my favorite perks is working-out, (I do this when he's home, but it's fun to think about how I will look different when he returns...so, I work harder) Another one of my favorite things is becoming more independent. I am very dependent on him when he is home. There is also the perk of not waking up at 5:15 every morning, (then again, I still seem to have a built-in alarm clock even when he's gone.) Another perk is not having to schedule things around him...His schedule is not set in stone, therefore, I try to schedule appointments, etc. around his schedule. I like to be home when he is home, and be available for him when he needs me.

3) How long did you date your before getting engaged? Married? submitted by Utterly Chaotic There were 14 months and 10 days of dating before we were engaged, and 2 years and 8 days of being together before we were married.

4) What do you think your would do if s/he wasn’t in the military? submitted by Adventures of M-Squared By now, he may have his own computer company. I should note that he is very passionate about what he does in the military, and ( as much as he loves being home, ) he loves being at sea. You can take a Sailor off the sea, but you can't take the sea out of the Sailor.

5) If you could talk to the Secretary of (fill in your appropriate branch) what is one suggestion you would like to bring to their attention in order to improve the lives of military families? submitted by My Life as His (Air Force) Wife My suggestion wouldn't improve the lives of the families, (unless that includes a less smellier Daddy and spouse☺) but, I would talk to them about the food that is served in the military. As grateful as I am to know that my husband is fed three meals a day, I would really like it if those meals were healthier.

  1. I also like to be home when my husband is home. It's hard for me to make any separation "my fault," especially since his career provides quite enough time apart all by itself.

  2. Thank you, Kristine! You are too sweet. I'm with you on the workout thing. I was in the gym constantly last time J was deployed. I felt so good being active! Gotta love those endorphins.
